I make some Peanut Puff (Kok Chai) for CNY.My mom was horrific when she see how big is my Peanut Puff!!.Well,I can't find the flour and butter that I like.I guess Malaysia only have one type of flour.I try to explain to my mom, about unbleached flour, all purpose flour and bleached flour, that same goes with unsalted butter, salted butter, spread and etc.. Look at my giant "kok chai"!!My mom bought 2 small puff mold from Chow Kit Road market but I don't know how to use it.I only know how to fold with my hand for the edge.

Your kok chai looks really pretty and crispy to me. But can't really tell how big is your kok chai though, no comparison with a coin or something. Aunty Lily made kok chai for her CNY party too and hers was really small and she also pleated by hands, wow at the work that went into making this!
I agreed with Belachan. I think your kok chai looks nice too as the edge is neatly done. Maybe you can put a 50 cents coin next your kok chai so that we can justify the size. Your kok chai makes me craving for curry puff now. Yum yum... :P
Hee hee, your kok chai really VERY BIG! Almost like curry pok!
Lesley, I agreed with the rest that your kok chai is really pretty and so well made :)
I love kok chai esp homemade ones! Wah, the commercial ones in my little island is so-so only...

梵,
When I was young my mom makes karipok and kok chai to sell, for the dough she uses flour, cooking oil and salt water. I know she hates making kok chai coz if don't chubit properly the peanuts would leak out of the kok chai and a mess in the cooking oil. Your kok chai looks good
