5 lbs corn beef
1 head green cabbage about 2 lbs
6 medium red potato,scrub and cut into 4 pieces each
1 cup baby carrot
6-7 cloves garlic,peeled
3-4 tbsp vegetable oil
3 liters water
1 stick cinnamon
2 star anise
1 tbsp coriander powder
1 tsp ground ginger powder
1 tsp ground black pepper
2 tbsp beef bouillon powder
1 tsp peppercorn
1:Prepare water in large stock pot at high heat.Place corn beef in the stock pot.When water bubbly boil,reduced heat to low.Simmer corn beef for 3 hours.
2:Heat large iron cast stock pot with oil , cinnamon ,anise star and garlic.Fry for 30 seconds,then toss in red potato, baby carrot and the broth from the stock pot.Simmer for 20 minutes before toss in green cabbage and all the spices,mix well.
3:Cook the vegetables for another 10 minutes .Add on corn beef into the pot,cook for another 10 minutes.Check the seasoning.
4:Remove stock pot from heat.Dish out and serve warm.
