Chayote with Chicken

The very first time I ever tried chayote was during summer this year.I love this vegetable immediately ..Well,maybe you can called it's fruit..It's shape likes a green pear and it has a thin green skin fused with the white flesh, and a single large flattened pit.The flesh has a fairly bland taste, and a texture described as a cross between a potato and a cucumber.I believed some people called it's as English cucumber..Chayote can be eat raw as salad or cook .It's have crisp flavor and is a good source of amino acids and vitamin C. This fruit or vegetable is available all year long..For me, the simplest way to cook this vegetable is to stir-fry with some salt, garlic and pepper powder!! Viola!!it's taste really good and healthy!!

Ingredients:
1 chayote, washed and sliced or julienne
1 medium onion,peeled and sliced
1 piece chicken breast,about 200 gm,sliced
1/2 carrot,peeled and julienne
2 tbsp garlic ,minced
1 tbsp chicken bouillon powder
salt to taste
1 tsp pepper powder
1 tbsp oil

Method:
1:Heat large pan with oil at medium heat.Add in garlic, stir for 30 seconds before add in chicken.Toss the chicken for 2 minutes before add in chayote, carrot ,onion ,chicken bouillon ,pepper powder and salt.
2:Toss all the ingredients well for another 3-5 minutes .Check the seasoning before dish out.(Do not over cooked chayote then it's become too soft not crisp)Serve warm immediately..

I love chayote, one thing you can try if you want is cook it with some ground beef or pork just small portion even if it's just a spoon full. Same procedure as your recipe above but instead of chicken bullion powder put in some oyster sauce instead. Yummy! :)
