Bread Machine:Maple and Oatmeal Loaf

Most of the time I only buy wholemeal loaf for hubby's sandwich.Since I bought a breadmaker, I try to make bread myself.I understand wholemeal grain is healthy for our body. The American Diabetes Association recommends an increased intake of dietary fibre and whole grain products to prevent the development of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease .The term "whole grain" is often used to describe both whole-meal products in which the structure of the kernel has been destroyed and cereal products in which a large proportion of the grain is intact. I make this oatmeal bread 3 days ago,but until today the loaf is still soft.If you're wholemeal or grain person, you might want to try out this recipe:)

1 1/3 cups water
2 tbsp maple syrup
3 1/4 cups white bread flour
3/4 cup whole-wheat flour
1/2 cup rolled oats
2 tbsp whole ground Flaxseed Meal
1 tsp salt
1 tsp granulated sugar
3 tbsp butter
1 tbsp rapid-rise active dry yeast
1 tbsp bread improver*optional*

1:Pour the water into the bread machine pan and then add the maple syrup. If the instructions for your machine specify that the yeast is to be placed in the pan first, reverse the order in which you add the liquid and dry ingredients.
2:Sprinkle both white and whole-wheat flours over, then the rolled oats and ground Flaxseed Meal ,ensuring that the water is completely covered.
3:Add the salt, sugar and butter, placing them in separate corner of the bread pan.Make a shallow indentation in the center of the flour(but not down as far as the liquid) and add the yeast.
4:Set the bread machine to the basic/dough setting, medium crust.Press start.I didn't bake the bread in bread machine ,so I used dough setting. After it's proof,I removed dough from bread machine pan to regular loaf pan because my bread machine pan are vertical,so I prefer my regular pan and bake in oven at 375 F for 25-30 minutes.
5:Remove the bread at the end of the cycle and turn out onto a wire rack to cool.

The key to have soft and moist bread is to store the bread in air tight container and add in bread improver.

How ambitious of you to be baking bread in July. It sure does look good. For some reason, I just can't help thinking about simply adding a farm fresh tomato slice "naked."

I never had any luck with my bread maker. I should really try again, Thanks for sharing and Happy 4th!
