Recently hubby requested veal for his dinner.I rarely buy veal coz I have no idea how to make great veal dish the way any Western restaurant present. Well at least I tried,to my surprised hubby gave a thumb up!! My first attempt cooking veal ,just rub some salt and ground pepper on it..Hubby loves it !! So we invite our neighbour to have dinner with us and I cook veal again..We told him veal is baby lamb and he keep insist veal is baby cow..All this while hubby told me veal is baby lamb!! Ouch!! Anyway,I don't take lamb or beef..so I dunno the different:P Actually veal is not really expensive and alot of supermarket didn't promote this meat..I wonder why..so I "google" to find out and later understand that some people think it's cruel to slaughter baby cow for the meat .Anyway,I only buy this meat once in a blue moon..And now I would like to share my simple pan fried veal with you..
I piece per-cut veal (about 1 pound)
1 tsp sea salt
1 tsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp butter
1:Rub salt and ground pepper all over pre-cut veal on both side and cover before let's sit for 30 minutes or longer in fridge.
2:Heat skillet at medium high heat.When skillet is hot,add in butter and veal.Pan-fried each side not more than 2 minutes.(Don't pan-fried too long,if not the meat is too rubbery and tough)
3: Remove veal from skillet and dish out to a plate.Serve warm with side dish as meal.
