Assorted Sushi and Maki

Last weekend I make some sushi for our dinner .Previously I was disappointed with our sushi lunch in NYC. The restaurant serve us craps ,sorry to said that but it's true!!.Read HERE...That one of the reason motivated me to make my own sushi and sashim again.So far I has made crazy maki deep fried giant salmon roll, sushi and rolls and spicy tuna roll .
Roasted eel with egg,cucumber,fish egg,cream cheese,Japanese mayo,fresh salmon and fresh flounder.
I used a whole sheet nori to wrapped the whole roasted eel,then cut to 6-7 pieces.I like my maki (roll)make with less rice and more ingredients. Remember to toast your ready made roasted eel for 10 minutes in toaster before wrap as roll.Roasted eel sushi/maki/sashmi should eat warm.
Fresh shrimp sashmi (Ebi) with fish egg and cucumber
Fresh salmon sushi (fish over vinegar rice)
I tried to use cucumber and nori(seaweed) to wrap the maki without rice but failure!!.I don't have the skill to cut the cucumber as thin as paper without break off. If you're on carb diet,you should get maki/roll without rice.Roll wrapped with cucumber ,daikon or bean curd sheet is ideal for you.If you're a diabetes,brown rice maki should ideal for you too!!
I also tried to used Daikon/radish and nori to wrap salmon maki without rice but fail too.The daikon I cut is too thick to wrap as maki.I used my new sushi knife which I purchase from Home Goods for $12.99.Let me tell you that knife is really sharp and light! .Love it!!I recommend you to get it if you like to make your own sushi at home!
Assorted maki with fresh salmon,kani,egg,cucumber,flounder and cream cheese.Mishu and Elliot both love sushi so much.Now I'm looking for MAMENORISAN(soy paper)sheet to wrap maki as my next sushi challenge.Hope I can find it in asian market.

Hi there, you are such an amazing cook. yr sushi & sashimi look so professionally made, like those found in japanese restaurants. maybe you shd open one..? mishu is so lucky to be eating all this :-) take care!

Is the daikon/radish cooked or raw? Most sushi will look crap in the light of yours. Yours is so good! :D

Wow, my eyes pop out looking at your sushi! So generous with ingredients and looking so good! Agreed with Anon, you can open a sushi restaurant already!

Yes..this is so good. I just had sushi for dinner at Sakae Sushi tonight and it cost a bomb too. Making your own saves you some money and taste a lot better too.

Lesley, I want some sushi :) I can still remember the taste of it. Actually the sushi without rice look really good and it roll up pretty well. My hand is itchi now and I wanted to make some too :)

home-made sushi are the best!! yours will surely beat all the sushi restaurants that exist :-)

Thank you:)).yes the daikon is raw but before you use it remember to soaked in cool water for hours
