Last weekend I make some sushi for our dinner .Previously I was disappointed with our sushi lunch in NYC. The restaurant serve us craps ,sorry to said that but it's true!!.Read HERE...That one of the reason motivated me to make my own sushi and sashim again.So far I has made crazy maki deep fried giant salmon roll, sushi and rolls and spicy tuna roll .Roasted eel with egg,cucumber,fish egg,cream cheese,Japanese mayo,fresh salmon and fresh flounder.
I used a whole sheet nori to wrapped the whole roasted eel,then cut to 6-7 pieces.I like my maki (roll)make with less rice and more ingredients. Remember to toast your ready made roasted eel for 10 minutes in toaster before wrap as roll.Roasted eel sushi/maki/sashmi should eat warm.

I tried to use cucumber and nori(seaweed) to wrap the maki without rice but failure!!.I don't have the skill to cut the cucumber as thin as paper without break off. If you're on carb diet,you should get maki/roll without rice.Roll wrapped with cucumber ,daikon or bean curd sheet is ideal for you.If you're a diabetes,brown rice maki should ideal for you too!!
I also tried to used Daikon/radish and nori to wrap salmon maki without rice but fail too.The daikon I cut is too thick to wrap as maki.I used my new sushi knife which I purchase from Home Goods for $12.99.Let me tell you that knife is really sharp and light! .Love it!!I recommend you to get it if you like to make your own sushi at home!
