Zong Zi is a glutinous rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo or reed leaves.You are sure to be impressed with the delicacy of this snack, and with the faint scent of the leaves imprinted on the skin of the dumplings.Usually Zhong Zhi is celebrate on May 5th according to the Chinese lunar calendar.But my mom just make some dumpling for us to enjoy..... not May 5th yet!. Look at the finish product!!.These Zhong is cooked and ready for us to enjoy.

I 'lau how suey' just looking your mom's 'zhong' Like you I think my mom zhong is the best. Too bad is hard to find our Malaysian kind of zhong here.

Wah, love your mom zhong zhi too! This 5 spice powder zhong zhi is still my favorite! Luckily I don't have to make any zhong zhi this year as I will be going back to M'sia in May! WooHoo...
I love zhong zi but I love the nonya version. I love my chang a bit sweet/savoury. And besides I don't like pork fat. Hehe. But it sure does look good your mum's.

Yes,it's hard to find Malaysian zhong in US..some Malaysian restaurant in NY sell one zhong for USD3.00 plus!!too bad I can't really wrapped nice zhong yet!

You are early for Mooncake festival, now you are early again for Dumpling Festival! I like Pork Zhong Zhi and also the Nyonya kind of Zhong Zhi with meat and melon strips! Yummy!
