At last I made it!!.This is the second time I make Tiramisu, the first time HERE was a disaster!!..So I make sure I get the right ingrendients this time.I used Chef Gertrude recipe but do some alternation...After long thinking,I decided to make Tiramisu for hubby's Birthday.Must face my own demon la!!..hahaha!! I forget to take the whole cake photo before cutting....keep changing the ribbon...at first put some lacy ribbon, then a pink strip ribbon but this is a man Birthday cake,no lace and pink color for him!!..At last change to purple with Butterfly pin.
Ingredients :
3 tub 8oz mascarpone cheese
1 tbsp of raspberry coffee liqueur
6 tbsp of sugar
600 ml of heavy cream
1 cup of strong brewed Godiva coffee...
1/4 cup of dark rum
48 lady fingers
unsweetened cocoa powder
Method:
1)Mixing bowl whisk the whipping cream with 4 tbsp of sugar until firm peak. set aside
2) In a second mixing bowl cream the mascarpone, coffee liqueur and 4 tbsp of sugar
3) Fold the whipping cream into the mascarpone cheese and set aside
4) Mix the coffee and dark rum. Dip lady fingers into coffee mixture and place in the bottom of the baking dish or spring form pan.
5) Spread some cream cheese mixture over the ladyfingers and dust with cocoa powder.
6) Dip some ladyfingers into coffee mixture and repeat step '5' again.
7) Cover and refrigerate tiramisu overnight.
8) Just before serving decorate it with some cocoa powder or fresh fruits.
I would to thank Chef Gertrude for her wonderful recipe.I found some many recipe out there using raw egg but I prefer to use heavy cream.
Note:This time I reduce the sugar because the ladyfinger was coated with sugar as well.I let my coffee cold down for hours before dipping the ladyfinger. The first time,I dipped ladyfingers in very hot coffee and it disengrated .Overall, this Tiramisu is really easy to make,no baking just assemble and whisking away!!..but must have right ingredients!!
