I saw Everyday Italian by Giada in Food Network making donut the other day.Giada show us how she made Italian donut.I'm surprise how easy and simple ,Giada make her donut. She use ready made pizza dough for her donut.Well, since I have plenty of yeast,so I make my own pizza dough.
I use cookies cutter, that why it's not round,it have some flower pattern
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
2 cups bread flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons white sugar
DIRECTIONS
In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
In a large bowl, combine 2 cups bread flour, olive oil, salt, white sugar and the yeast mixture; stir well to combine. Beat well or knead until a stiff dough has formed. Cover and rise until doubled in volume, about 1 hour. Then knead for 10 minutes and let it proof for another 1 hour.Roll flat, wrap with film tape and keep in fridge for another hour before use it.
Note:The key for the cinnamon sugar to stick o n the donut is to removed fried donut immediately from fryer and roll on the sugar. If you don't like doughy donut, try to use pizza dough. It's really crispy and fluffy!!

I have to start watching my diet, coz I am what you might call pre-diabetic ... so have to learn alternative cooking.
You have any recipe for diabetics? Share some if you do. :-)
